Born 8 July 1744 in Berks County, Pennsylvania; son of John A. Dieffenbach; father of Christian Dieffenbach; grandfather of David Dieffenbach; farmer, organbuilder in Millersburg {now Bethel}, Pennsylvania; died 7 Jul. 1803 in Hamlin, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.
