New Tabernacle Baptist Church was formed in August 1895 by a union of Tabernacle Baptist and Berean Baptist churches. The consolidated congregation built a new chapel on the site of the former Berean Baptist Church; it was opened on December 27, 1896, and dedicated on March 7, 1897.
