From (The Province, October 5, 1898): "The new organ in St. James' Church, which has just been erected by N. W. Harpur, the organist of the church, contains the following ... pedal board, scale and positions according to college of organists' arrangements. The case is of pitch pine, and simple, effective design, according to the requirements of the building. The organ reflects great credit on its builders, Messrs. Benington [sic] & Sons, Soho, London."
