From The Kingston Whig-Standard (September 28, 1945): "Minutes of a special vestry meeting on August 2, 1852, records 'the request of Mr. Limprecht, an organ builder lately arrived in this city, who has one of these instruments for sale, to place it in the gallery of the church at his own responsibility and risk for the use of the choir free of charge, until such time as he finds it convenient to take it away.' Permission was given. A further note states the price of the organ was $450 but that the owner would be willing to accept $400 or $370 if paid in cash ... The new organ installed in 1854 was purchased from W. Townsend ..." It is presumed that this was an instrument of 6 stops contained in a Gothic case that was being advertised by the builder in the Kingston Daily News in 1852. It is unknown whether Mr. Limprecht removed and installed his instrument in another Kingston church.
