NOTES
The organ was installed in two chambers in the rear gallery. The console was in fixed
position, center.
In an e-mail to James R. Stettner dated January 19, 2009, Wicks Service Manager William
F. Bust indicated, "Op. 3170 was the result of a rebuilding of an earlier Wicks organ of
which there seems to be no record." This earlier organ was evidently a 2-manual instru-
ment, and most of the ranks were incorporated into the "new" 19-rank Opus 3170. The con-
tract was signed in January of 1951.
In 1974, the organ was replaced by Wicks Opus 5434 - installed at the front of the church.
In 1975, Opus 3170 was sold to First Church of Christ, Scientist in Englewood, NJ - minus
the 8' Salicional and Voix Celeste which were retained for Opus 5434.
