NOTES
The decorative 'fence' around the Great 8' Principal, 4' Octave, and 2' Fifteenth was
added as an after-thought. The Swell 4' Spitz Flöte is barely tapered – about 5:4.
Both the Swell 2-2/3' Nasard and 1-3/5' Tierce are tapered. The top 14 reed pipes of
the 8' Trompette are are harmonic. The Pedal 16' Rohr Gedeckt takes its first 12 notes
from the Pedal 16' Bourdon on soft wind; and the balance from the 8' Rohr Flöte. The
Pedal 16' Bourdon unit is stopped wood for the first 24 pipes, and 32 capped metal
pipes for the balance.
In 2001, David Salmen (former Reuter Rep.) was hired to do a solid state conversion to
the organ. A new stop rail with rocker tablet assembly replaced the original stop rail
with tilting tablets. The complement of finger pistons and toe studs was increased. The
Swell Rohr Flute was borrowed to the Great at 16' and 8' pitches, and borrowed to the
Pedal at 4' pitch. Also, a number of prepared-for stops were added to the stop rail.
The control system was by Matters, Inc.
In July 2016, Puget Sound Pipe Organs of Stanwood, Washington added the prepared-for 4'
Principal to the Swell. These were pipes of German manufacture that had been added in
the 1970's to a transplanted 1889 Whalley & Genung tracker at Resurrection Lutheran in
Des Moines, Washington. The Principal was installed on the existing 4' Spitz Flute toe-
board. The Spitz Flute was replaced with an open wood 4' Wald Flute – which was also a
used set of Reuter pipes from the 1952 Reuter at University Lutheran Church in Seattle,
Washington. These pipes were installed on two recycled/restored chests. The bottom 12
pipes were offset, and pipes 13-61 were installed on an elevated chest next to the Pedal
Subbass extension.
The original Spitz Flute will be added in the future as a 2' Block Flute on the Swell
with the 4' octave allowing it to play as a 4' Block Flute in the Pedal - replacing the
4' Rohr Flute added in 2001, and too similar in tone to the 4' Subbass.
