New York City, New York, 1879-1884.
From the OHS Database Builders Listing editor, compiled from other entries in the OHS Database, January 28, 2017. -
After his partnership with William M. Wilson in
Henry Erben & Co. (New York City, New York, 1874-1879), Erben briefly retired. Leaving retirement, he formed a new partnership with his son, Charles, as Henry Erben & Son in 1879 and continued working until his death in 1884.
Lewis C. Harrison, Erben's foreman, continued Erben's last business for a few more years before relocating to Bloomfield, New Jersey, in 1891 and forming
L.C. Harrison & Co. with J.C. Petit.
[Harrison had a branch office in New York City, this may have been the old Erben & Son shop. There is no record in the OHS Database for Charles Erben beyond 1884. -Ed.]
