Orpha Ochse gives Bromfield-s name as Edward Broomfield (Bromfield), Jr. Henry M. Brooks, which Ochse cites as the source of a statement by the Reverend Thomas Prince, minister of the Old South Church, about Bromfield and the organ he started to build, gives his name as Edward Bromfield, Jr.
