Online update from Dennis Huthnance -- The mechanical action was replaced by an electro-pneumatic action in the 1930s. This Pilcher instrument was damaged by a violent storm in the late 1960s and the Great division became unplayable. In 1984 it was decided to replace the instrument by a new organ built by Schlicker. The original Pilcher organ case and console were retained in the new instrument along with the entire Vox Humana and several of the pedal division pipes.
Identified through information from the Pilcher factory ledgers and list of Pilcher organs typed by William E. Pilcher of Louisville. For more information see the document referenced below.
Original price: $8500. Echo played from Sw. El. Motor. Reb. 1937 as Op. 1829.
Related Instrument Entries: Schlicker Organ Co. (1986) , Henry Pilcher's Sons (Opus 1829, 1937)
