Identified through online information from James R. Stettner. -- Organ funded by $125,000.00 donation from Carnegie Hall trustee, Mrs. Aye Simon. Organ designed, built, and delivered. 3' stage extension added to accommodate organ. Opposing voices - Ormandy, Stokowski, Horowitz - said organ would destroy hall acoustics. Organ never installed. Given by Mrs. Simon to SUNY in Purchase, NY.
