The sanctuary and organ were damaged beyond repair by Hurricane Ian in September 2023; the organ, though it looks undamaged and on a higher level, was soaked beyond economic repair by the 150mph wind-driven rain. The church plans to rebuild on the same site. The sanctuary was completed gutted by the winds and storm surge.
