Case carved and built by Herter Brothers, New York City. Organ was first played after dinner party held on Christmas Eve 1888. James E. Treat was dressed as Santa Claus. Boston organists Henry Dunham and Everett Truette were invited to play the organ.
Identified through online information from James Lewis. -- Moved c. 1920 [ed.: actually 1924] to Congregational Church, Methuen, Mass., where it was electrified and tonally altered by William W. Laws.
