Database Manager on July 26th, 2010:
Updated through on-line information from Chad Boorsma. -- The organ was a replica of a classical 18th century French organ. It was a gift from O. William Lowry in memory of his wife, Sara, a musician, teacher, and supporter of St. Mark's music programs. The church's gallery, which was the home for the organ, had to be rebuilt before the organ's installation. This included a reinforced floor, new railing, and new stairs to reach the gallery. The organ was used for concerts and master classes, but the Austin organ in the chancel continued to support the music of the liturgy.
