Updated through on-line information from James R. Stettner.

Database Manager on May 5th, 2007:

Updated through on-line information from James Hale. -- Island Pond was once a major maintenance stop for the railroad from Quebec to Boston. In order to evade US tariffs of the time it was smuggled piece by piece under the floor of rail road cars. It is not in very good condition and I do not believe it is used currently. It is a very small mission church.
