From the Welland-Port Colborne Evening Tribune (February 7, 1950): "Installation in the church at a cost of approximately $10,000 of what will be virtually a new organ was authorized last night at the annual meeting of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church ... As proposed by the committee, the work will be done by the internationally known organ builders, Casavant Freres, of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec. The chests, bellows, frame work, console and electric parts will all be brand new. The present pipes will be shipped to the factory for complete parts will all be brand new. The present pipes will be shipped to the factory for revoicing. There will also be a new all-electric chime action with automatic dampers. One new two-foot stop will be added to the present compass of the organ. The cost of the work, as tendered by Casavant Freres, will be $9,955. Including the pipes and parts of the present organ which will be retained, the new instrument will have a value of $15,000."
