Jeff Scofield on December 7th, 2025:

This was an undocumented renovation of Skinner Op. 177; rebuilt in 1953 as Moller Op. R-458. The congregation moved in the early 1980s and the building was sold to Temple Missionary Baptist Church and then to St. Stephen's Baptist Church. The organ has been vandalized and most of it removed one way or another.

Database Manager on February 21st, 2015:

Identified by Don Hurd, based on personal knowledge of the organ.
-- The congregation moved ca. 1980. The Park Avenue church was sold and became St. Stephen's Missionary Baptist Church. The organ was vandalized soon after the sale; the chambers were converted to a baptismal pool. The Great and Choir were destroyed, and the console was severely damaged--never heard if it was salvaged. The Swell was untouched!

Manger's note: This appears to be a renovation or rebuild of Skinner Opus 177 of 1910. There is no organ for this location in the 1940s on the Skinner/Aeolian-Skinner Opus List.]
