Database Manager on May 5th, 2017:
This entry represents the installation of a used organ is a new home that was altered when it was moved from another location. Identified by James R. Stettner, the builder. This is a 3-rank Moller 'Portable' that was originally built for Mountain View Lutheran Church in Puyallup, Washington. When that congregation built a new church and purchsaed a new Werner Bosch tracker in 1965, the Moller was sold to the Lutheran Bible Institute of Seattle; where it was reinstalled by Glenn D. White of Olympic Organ Builders. Tonal changes were made in an effort to make the organ more 'Lutheran'. The original 4' Salicet was cut-down to become a 2' Principal (but never actually put back on-speech properly). The organ was later moved to Issaquah when the LBI purchased the former Providence Heights College. LBI later renamed as Trinity College. The Moller was placed in the Rainier Room which was rented as a worship space by other area churches. The property was sold to City Church of Seattle in 2008 and the Moller was removed to storage by Jim Stettner. It remained in storage at the Pipe Organ Foundation of Mercer Island for a time. Then it was in a storage facility in Shoreline. From there it went to the Puget Sound Pipe Organs shop on Camano Island, WA. and remained there until it was purchased by Christ Episcopal organist, Carl Bradley as a gift to the church. The organ was fully restored mechanically. A replacement string of slightly larger scale was installed where the original Salicet had been. A used 1962 Reuter console originally built for Milliken College in Decatur, Illinois (and subsequently housed in various places) was used rather than the Moller console which was in rough condition. The Reuter also offered the opportunity for an expanded stoplist of 25 speaking stops rather than the traditional 19 of a standard Moller 'Portable.' It was installed in April 2017 at the rear of the church to the left of the window with the console at the front on the right.
