C. Bobsin Organs

A correction to the notes.
The organ has at its core the Principal chorus from the Hofmann recital hall organ at the University of North Texas. This is placed on a new chest. The remainder of the Great organ is the 1950 Great division of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Austin, Texas. The Swell division is from the same organ with the addition of Austin and Kilgen pipework. The chests for the choir and positive divisions are from St. Paul Lutheran in Bay City, Texas. The pipework is from Skinner, Wicks, Hilgreen Lane and Stinkens. The console is from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Austin and was modified for this installation with new components and keys.

This instrument is comprised largely of pipework from two older Wicks organs, both dating from the early 1950s. The first was originally in the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Baytown, Texas, while the second comes from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Baytown, Texas. A new principal chorus was installed, along with some additional ranks sourced from Pilcher, Kilgen and Hillgreen-Lane instruments. The console, a Holtkamp-style minimalist design, is new, as are all the electronic components. The instrument is mostly finished, with much of the work carried out by Bobsin Organ Builders of San Antonio. (church website)
