This entry describes a new home for an organ that was relocated without either tonal or mechanical changes.
<br>Identified by Michael Brady<br>Information based on liner notes of LP record album (Tab Records #100) recorded at the pizza parlor in or after 1970 (no copyright date on the record; latest date mentioned in the notes is 1970). Notes indicate that William Brewer (aka Bill Breuer) purchased the Long Beach Auditorium Wurlitzer in 1968 and relocated it to the pizza parlor, completing reinstallation in summer 1968. They also indicate that "reconditioning and additions are still continuing in 1970" but provide no details, so the final state of the organ at Capn's Galley is unknown. In any case, even with only relocation, the building and therefore organ installation were of a completely different character than that of the previous installation in Long Beach so at minimum all electrical, mechanical, and structural aspects were changed.<br><br>Current status and location of the organ is unknown; the Capn's Galley pizza chain went out of business in the 1990s. The Santa Clara location was the chain's original restaurant. The chain also had a location in Redwood City CA with a Wurlitzer that is described in database entry 52496.<br><br>LP was purchased at the restaurant by a family member in the 1970s. This information is submitted based on the record jacket notes, not any personal knowledge of the current state of the organ. Information is submitted to add to the chain of ownership for this particular organ.
