In addition to being playable from the Hook & Hastings console in the gallery, there were two consoles for this small altar organ. The principal console was to the liturgical south of the front rows of the pews, a 2-manual console of normal dimensions. There was also a very narrow 2-manual console directly behind the high altar; the boys' choir sang on angled risers to the left and right of the altar, and the organist could conduct from the console, unseen by the congregation but with good sighlines to the choristers.

This was an independent chancel organ which was also playable from the rear gallery, 1924 Hook & Hastings.

According to Facebook posts by Timothy Tikker on Sept. 7, 2019 - "Jack Bethards told me that he planned to remove the Schoenstein chancel organ to safety, as it was a rare example of the firm's original work (i.e. not a rebuild of an existing organ). I don't know what became of it after that. It had its own chancel console, in addition to being playable from the gallery console."
