From the Times (Owen Sound, January 26, 1911): "The new organ which has been installed will class with the best in town. It was built under contract with the Warren Church Organ Company of Woodstock ... The wood work is of paneled oak in old English finish with a Tudor Gothic design. The metal pipes rise above without separating standards and are decorated to blend with the tints of the walls and ceilings. The decorations of the pipes are chaste and artistic. The consul [sic] is detached and has a roller top and is connected with the organ throughout with the tubular pneumatic system. In the organ are 1310 pipes, which range in size from 18 feet in length by 14 inches square down to pipes the size of a lead pencil. There are twenty-three stops, composed of nine in the Great Organ, eleven in the Swell, and three in the Pedal. Tablet couplers are the swells to great unison, swell to great sub, swell to the super, great super, great sub, swell super, great to pedal and swell to pedal. In pistons there are two combined with the great organ and three combinations to the well. The pedals are mezzo organ, great organ, crescendo acting on all the stops and unison couplers. A special feature is the rich Vox Humano [sic] which is supplied with its special wind chest and its own tremulos. It is the nearest effect to the human voice ... The contract price was $3,775, of which amount Mr. Andrew Carnegie contributes $1500. The tonal qualities of the organ are excellent as might be expected when the instrument was constructed by the Warren Church Organ Company, the head of which, by the way, is Mr. James Hay, elder brother of Messrs. John G. and A. B. Hay of this town."
