From The Kingston Whig-Standard (September 28, 1845): "The new organ installed in 1854 was purchased from W. Townsend, organ builder, Hamilton. The price of the organ was £150. After some 60 years of service, the organ purchased in 1854 was felt to be inadequate for the needs of the church, and it was decided to buy a new one. The new organ was built by Casavant Freres ..."
