Installation of a new organ, identified from "The New Pipe Organ for Bethel College," Newton (KS) Evening Kansan-Republican, Wednesday, June 26, 1901, [3] (Newspapers.com, https://www.newspapers.com/image/95657166); the article announced the award of the contract to "Hinners & Albertson" [sic] and gave a description and stoplist (see under "Documents").
This organ was replaced by the Reuter Organ Company's Opus 476, as reported in "New Pipe Organ Being Installed College Chapel" [sic], Mennonite Weekly Review (Newton, KS), Wednesday, July 22, 1936, 1 (Newspapers.com, https://www.newspapers.com/image/811393100): "Dismantling of the 35-year old organ that was one of the first put into a Kansas college was begun this week. The new organ being installed by the Reuter Organ company of Lawrence, Kansas, will be built into the center of the stage in Bethel college chapel, whereas the old one occupied the northeast portion of the stage." The fate of the Hinners & Albertsen organ after it was dismantled and removed is unknown.
