Paul R. Marchesano on April 29th, 2025:
From The Philadelphia Inquirer, Fri, May 03, 1867 · Page 5. See DOCUMENTS tab "THE NEW ORGAN FOR THE Walnut Street Church, West Philadelphia, containing 30 stops, 2 full ranks [sic] of keys and pedals, will be open to public exhibition at the Wareroom of JOHN ROBERTS, Organ Builder, corner PENN and ORTHODOX Streets; Frankford, Philadelphia, this Friday afternoon and Saturday.

Paul R. Marchesano on April 8th, 2025:
“West Philadelphia.—Perhaps no more disagreeable day could be possibly conceived than was that which has just passed away, and last night it finished itself off in as violent a wind storm as we are seldom blessed with. We were not among the church goers, and so can only report at second hand, that all the reverend clergy officiated at their usual posts. The fair at the Walnut Street Presbyterian Church, which closed on Friday evening, re-opens again to-day. The ladies realized over $1,800 for their handiwork. The new organ and the necessary repairs of the church will cost $3,000.” “City Bulletin. West Philadelphia,” (Philadelphia) Daily Evening Bulletin 20, no. 62 (Tuesday, January 19, 1866): 7.

Paul R. Marchesano on January 23rd, 2025:
Notice in the Philadelphia Inquirer for a church fair mentions that the fair is for the "provision of funds for the erection of an organ." See DOCUMENTS tab.
