According to information contained in the Carnegie Corporation archives, the instrument was built originally by L. C. Harrison, East Orange, NJ, and installed in 1885 at a cost of $2,000. The organ was repaired by Harrison in 1917 at a cost of $500, half of which was paid by Andrew Carnegie.
