The cornerstone for the new church was laid September 8, 1846. In January, 1875, the congregation purchased a large lot at the corner of 35th and Baring St. and built a new church. At their last meeting at 35th and Spring Garden in September, 1875, they renamed the church Northminster Presbyterian Church.
